Bathroom Window treatment

The old window

The old window

I did two other projects in the bathroom, and have not posted them yet, so I thought I would start with the window treatment that I did. I think it turned out really cool, and my youngest daughter said she loved it as well, so it must be cool.

This window made me think of those windows with bars on them, so I just had to do something about it. I thought that using the theme of bars on the windows but softer was a great idea, so I put a fence on the window.

Here is the final product, and I think it turned out great. I just love how it adds to the feel of the bathroom, and think it is unique and fun. I used the same fence that I used in my two projects in the kitchen, the Utensil Hanger and the Coffee Cup Holder. I also used the same painting technique as on the Bathroom Bench. It makes a nice addition to the bathroom, and with the paint looking the same it fits in nicely. Now all I need to do is paint, redo the counter, and get a new sink. (One project at at time.)

Here is how the painting went.

One tip I learned along time ago is to use pop tops on the back of picture to hang them with. This saves a trip to the store if you run out, or if like this project there is just no room for those little things with teeth. They were just too long, and I only had a small space on the back of the finished fence to attach something to hang it with.
